Nowshera Health Centre

The RMF Health Centre in Union Council Taru Jabba, District Nowshera opened our doors in November 2013 to the women and children of the Internally Displaced People (IDP) community hosted in District Nowshera.

An estimated 5 million people have been internally displaced due to conflict, sectarian violence and human rights abuse within Pakistan since 2004. In 2010 this figure was magnified due to the massive floods that devastated the country. In 2013, clashes between Taliban and military in different parts of northern Pakistan led to a round of massive displacement recording 1.1 million IDPs who moved down to the main hosting areas in KPK namely the districts of Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, Hangu, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan. Displacement leads to a host of serious challenges such as threat to life and freedom of movement, not to mention inadequate access to food, housing and basic services including healthcare.
