Brief Narrative from an RMF Staffer
What a Shift Working is Like
We arrived in Preševo at 6:00 pm. First, we visited colleagues in the One Stop Centre and they showed us our new container box, where we can take a rest or wait for further activities.
A police patrol was the same as the previous day. They asked us to come half an hour early before the train’s departure. They are very satisfied with our help. They follow the trains to Niš every day, where they leave the train. Police listened to our suggestions from last day, and created the line near the train for entry in the train. In this line we created separation of groups of families from other passengers that are traveling alone. This significantly facilitates the accommodation on the train. Families are not separated. There were no problems with transit papers. Refugees entered the train in less than one hour.
Activities in the train were related with first aid – sharing water and medical examinations. Some of the team members discussed with refugees from Syria about their trip.
