Mobile Dental Clinic
Now Fully Operational
RMF Serbia’s newest project, the Mobile Dental Clinic at Obrenovac Reception and Transit Centre, was launched during this reporting period. Currently, this is the only mobile dental clinic in Serbia.
The Mobile Dental Clinic is now fully operational. As Obrenovac Reception and Transit Centre is the largest refugee camp in Serbia, it presented the greatest need for dental care services.
Preparations for Opening
Equipment Installed
Between April and June 2018, all dental equipment for the clinic was installed, including a dental chair, autoclave, and all dental instruments. With the support of the Ministry of Health, our dental team was trained and prepared for fieldwork.
Mobile Dental Clinic Completed
Officially Opens July 3, 2018
RMF’s new mobile dental clinic, which is the very first mobile dental clinic in Serbia, was completed on March 22, 2018. It is equipped with world-class dental equipment. The clinic will officially open on July 3, 2018 and will be open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Our dental team, which consists of a dentist and a dental nurse, will perform 20 to 30 procedures per day. All basic dental procedures will be performed, including preventive examinations for the detection of dental disease. The dental team’s goal is to inform and educate project beneficiaries on the importance of oral hygiene.
With this project, we have achieved great cooperation with the government sector. In individual cases, RMF Serbia also provides basic dental care to the local population employed at Obrenovac Transit Centre.
- Provide comprehensive dental care for all refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers in Obrenovac Reception and Transition Centre.
- Inform project beneficiaries about the importance of oral hygiene and educate them on best oral hygiene practices.
In order to address the urgent need for comprehensive dental care among refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers at Obrenovac Reception and Transit Centre, RMF Balkans opened a mobile dental clinic, the first of its kind in Serbia.
The RMF-supported dentist and dental nurse see 20 to 30 patients per day and perform preventive examinations, fillings, extractions, repairs, and other treatments. The dental team is also dedicated to educating project beneficiaries on the importance of oral hygiene.
