Celebrating Tradition
Asela Poya Day
Soratha Thero and Vishuddhi Thero always pay their attentions to Palathuduwa Preschool. During this term, teachers organized a Dharma Deshana for Asela poya day. Vishuddhi Thero came to our preschool for the Dharma Deshana for children. The children enjoyed the activity. Vishuddhi Thero explained good and bad habits.

Promoting Creativity
Art Competition
Palathuduwa Preschool students participated in an art competition at the Tangalle Cooperative Building. It was organized by the Corporative Teacher’s Society for Children’s Day. Three children were allowed to participate from each preschool. Our teachers also transported the three children from our school.
Our students did not win a prize, but they learned several things from the experience, including how to draw within a time limit and how to face a competition.

Learning Continues
Life and Culture Lessons
- Taught the children how to face a competition
- Taught the children how to get ready for a perahera, why we hold perahera, and why this tradition is important
- This and the previous term were very important to Buddhist students, because they include poya days: Wesak, Poson, and Asela. Students learned the significance of these holidays.
