Sylvia Mary Nakiirya BEHR, DPPM

Sylvia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics and Human Rights from Makerere University and a postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute. She is also a scholar with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) under the Young Leaders’ Forum V. Prior to joining Real Medicine Foundation’s team, Sylvia worked with the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative (FHRI) as a volunteer, as well as Citizens’ Election Observers Network – Uganda (CEON-U) as a data clerk and election observer.

Sylvia joined RMF in 2016 as Data Clerk in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, and based on her work and commitment to serving persons of concern, she was promoted to the position of Data Manager, working a total of three years in Bidibidi. She is now the Administrator in charge of overseeing the progress of RMF’s projects, traveling to their respective locations across the country. Sylvia is based at RMF Uganda’s head office in Kampala and serves as the liaison between project leaders and the management team. She is a results-driven, self-motivated, and resourceful team player, with excellent communication skills and the ability to establish sustainable relationships with key stakeholders.

Sylvia is passionate about human rights and helping to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable members of society. She is also inspired to continue learning and researching in order to constantly build her understanding of humanitarian service and community improvement through her opportunity with RMF to liberate human potential.
