Monica Akwaso MBChB
Medical Officer
Dr. Monica Akwaso is an RMF Medical Officer. She attended Madhvani Muljibhai for her primary education, Trinity College Nabbingo for her Ordinary Level studies, and Mount Saint Mary’s College Namagunga for her Advanced Level (2004–2006). Monica went on to join the Makerere University College of Health Sciences, completing her studies in 2012. She then accepted an internship at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (2012–2013).
As a qualified doctor, Monica worked for two years at Kaberamaido Health Centre IV under Baylor-Uganda, in partnership with the Kaberamaido District local government, and later at Kaabong General Hospital for three months. Monica then joined RMF’s team in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement as a team leader for Zone 3.
Monica enjoys music, playing acoustic guitar, and reading literature. She is fluent in Kumam and English.
