Dr. Ufuoma John Ejughemre is an experienced doctor, writer, and researcher. After completing his medical degree at Ebonyi State University in 2007 and working for several years as a doctor in Nigeria, Dr. Ufuoma traveled to the UK, where he completed his MSc in Public Health at Anglia Ruskin University in 2012, and was named Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) in 2014. Dr. Ufuoma will begin work on his PhD in Health Economics and Policy Research at University College, London, in February 2017. He has published 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and serves as editor-in-chief for the Journal of Basic Health Sciences and Clinical Care and Doctors’ Digest. Since 2012, Dr. Ufuoma has worked at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital as a Global Health Systems Economics and Policy Researcher, and Public Health Physician in-training, conducting research and healthcare intervention programs. In 2015, Dr. Ufuoma also became the Resident Doctors’ Academic Coordinator at Delta State University Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Ufuoma joined RMF in 2009, when he helped pioneer our health project in Kwara State, Nigeria. He is now an RMF consultant for health systems strengthening in Kwara State, as well as an RMF Nigeria Project Director. Besides his extensive professional experience, Dr. Ufuoma has volunteered with many NGOs, including the Essex Coalition of Disabled People (ECDP), Pro-Health International, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Dr. Ufuoma enjoys traveling, reading, meeting new people, and watching football (American soccer).
