Real Medicine Foundation has been serving Ugandans, Ugandan IDPs and refugees from other African nations since April 26th, 2008, when the RMF team first arrived from the USA to the Mulanda Refugee Transit Center. The main support program followed these refugees to the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement in Uganda, offering material support but also a sense of hope that their lives can and will get better. To that end, we currently sponsor more than 6,000 students between nursery school and high school age, manage a health care clinic specializing in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, malaria and malnutrition and a Vocational Training Center that employs local instructors to teach marketable skills including hairdressing and tailoring. RMF has also been active supporters of the World Children’s Fund Mama Kevina Orphanage/School in Tororo since 2009 and the Buwate Sports Academy.
This project addresses two goals: Emergency operations and care and maintenance of more than 100,000 refugees and asylum seekers through the delivery of quality healthcare services.
As the UNHCR Healthcare Implementing Partner for Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, RMF is providing health services to refugees through 3 stationary clinics, a health outreach program, and support of Yumbe District Hospital.
A UNHCR managed refugee settlement that provides shelter, land, and support for more than 100,000 people, including Ugandan IDPs and refugees from Kenya, DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan.
An orphanage and a boarding school that provides education and care for orphans in Eastern Uganda.
RMF provides 4 area health centers with medicines and medical supplies. Additional medical staff (including 2 doctors) and janitorial staff are also sponsored by RMF, improving the capacity and cleanliness of Panyadoli Health Centre III.
