RMF Uganda Seeks Program Coordinator

RMF Uganda is seeking 1 Program Coordinator to join our team in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, Kiryandongo District, Uganda. Position Overview

The Program Coordinator will be in charge of our new sports initiative in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, and will report to RMF Uganda’s Project Coordinator and Country Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the day-to-day management responsibilities of Program Coordinator, including, but not limited to:
    • Provide a day-to-day leadership presence for RMF emergency Sports Development Program (SDP) staff at Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.
    • Cultivate the values of RMF within the program and its staff.
  • Assess and analyze the needs of persons of concern, refugees, and nationals, in the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement in a participatory manner and using an Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) perspective to form a firm basis for implementation and planning.
  • Ensure that the Implementing Partner (IP) agreements are provided and established in a timely manner, regularly monitored, and reported on in compliance with provided and established guidelines and procedures.
  • Through a consultative process within the country and field visits within Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, lead the development of strategies, methodologies, and contingency plans that respond to new and emerging operational challenges for Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.
  • Undertake field visits to evaluate and improve the planning, programming, implementation and monitoring of activities in the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.
  • Assist in developing the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement operations plan in compliance with global strategic priorities and regional priorities as well as with annual programming and planning instructions.
  • Guide and train RMF (IP) staff in Peace Players International (PPI) standard procedures related to the Results Based Program management.
  • Apply PPI’s corporate tools (e.g. Global Focus, Focus Client) to record data and assess the technical soundness of the operation and generate data for evidence-based decisions at the regional and country levels.
  • Monitor compliance to the organization’s resource allocation framework, providing support and taking corrective action where required.
  • Provide inputs for and oversee the country operations plan (including budgets, staffing levels, and structures), as well as prepare funding submissions, appeals, and reports.
  • Negotiate Implementing Partner (IP) agreements.
  • Finance/Accounting:
    • Work closely with and guide RMF emergency Sports Development Project (SDP) program Finance & Admin Officer.
    • Oversee and assist with RMF Uganda’s accounting and banking, including reviewing monthly financial reports and expense documentation, and communicating any procedural changes to RMF headquarters.
  • Fundraising:
    • Support RMF’s fundraising actions by maintaining regular contact with donor representatives and by preparing and submitting project funding submissions and appeals.
    • Connect, and if appropriate, meet with current and prospective contributors and investors based in Uganda and attract funding, such as grants, contributions, and sponsorship of RMF’s work.
  • Support and oversee administrative aspects including proposal preparation and grant writing.
  • Submit monthly/quarterly program progress reports to RMF headquarters, including financial, narrative, and photo reports.
  • Undertake/participate in liaison, coordination, and information sharing activities with national NGOs, international organizations, donors, and the government.

Language Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of English and good working knowledge of one or more local languages is required.

Football Coach

RMF Uganda Seeks 8 Football Coaches

RMF Uganda is seeking 8 Football Coaches to join our team in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, Kiryandongo District, Uganda. Position Overview

The Football Coach will be based in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement. He or she will be responsible for sports training, management, and maintaining good communication and a positive image for the team and organization. The position requires good leadership and communication skills, as well as physical fitness, honesty, integrity, dignity, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the entire organization to ensure that the vast network (hierarchy) that is required to run the operation is working well and organized correctly.
  • Smooth out any conflicts between teams and oversee the inner workings of the organization. This involves working as intermediary between the program staff and players.
  • Work with other departments of the organisation to give the team a good public image, and keep the right balance of players to make everything function smoothly.
  • Discuss the goals of sports sessions with the Program Coordinator, organizer, and team captain.
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate the coaching program to improve and develop the football players.
  • Offer encouragement and advice to the assistant coaches and helpers within the coaching team.
  • Stay equipped and ready to hand over managerial work that does not require coaching skills, such as keeping the register, equipment, and venue maintenance.
  • Inform and update all team helpers, assistant coaches, and football players on the goals of the session and rationale of every endeavor.
  • Engage all helpers and see to it that they are conscious of the value of their work input.
  • Liaise with the club committee to ensure that there are standard, appropriate, and competitive opportunities for everyone. He or she also must be well informed about the special requirements of the football participants, such as disabilities and medical conditions.
  • Instruct football athletes on correct form and techniques in beginning and advanced exercises to develop the maximum physical potential of the player. He or she must oversee the players as they develop and enhance their individual skills and abilities.
  • Set a good example for the players, helpers, and assistant coaches.

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience Required

  • Advanced Level qualification
  • Two years’ experience in the same position
  • Pass a drug test and background check

Position Overview

The Assistant Football Coach will be based in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement. He or she will report to the Football Coach and be responsible to assist with sports training, management, and maintaining good communication and a positive image for the team and organization. The position requires good leadership and conflict resolution skills, as well as physical fitness, honesty, integrity, dignity, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the entire organization to ensure that the systems that govern the program are established and implemented.
  • Smooth out any conflicts between teams and oversee the inner workings of the organization. This involves working as intermediary between the program staff and players.
  • Work with other departments of the organization to give the team a good public image, and keep the right balance of players to make everything function smoothly.
  • Provide the players with day-to-day counseling to see to it that they develop a good relationship with one another.
  • Discuss the goals of the sports sessions with the Program Coordinator, organizer, and team captain.
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate the coaching program to improve and develop the football players.
  • Offer encouragement and advice to the helpers within the coaching team.
  • Inform and update all team helpers and football players on the goals of the session and rationale of every endeavor.
  • Engage all helpers and ensure that they are conscious of the value of their work input.
  • Liaise with the club committee to make sure that there are standard, appropriate, and competitive opportunities for everyone. He or she also must be well informed about the special requirements of the football participants such as disabilities and medical conditions.
  • Instruct football athletes on correct form and techniques in beginning and advanced exercises to develop the maximum physical potential of the player. He or she must oversee the players as they develop and enhance their individual skills and abilities.
  • Identify the new talents in the community to enhance sports development so that the spirit of sports is realized in the community.
  • Set a good example for the players, helpers, and other coaches.

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience Required

  • Advanced Level qualification
  • Two years’ experience in the same position
  • Pass a drug test and background check
